Tilly Merrick, storekeeper of Concord, Mass., was Treasurer of the Union Turnpike Corporation. He owned Union Turnpike shares No. 206-215. The Corporation was formed in 1804 to build a turnpike (a predecessor of Route 2) from Concord to Leominster, connecting the Cambridge and Concord Turnpike and the Fifth Massachusetts Turnpike.
